Description GBC Construction is recruiting for a Project Engineer. GBC Construction has been in business since 2005 working in the mid-Willamette Valley from Salem to Eugene. GBC offers competitive pay and excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), personal time off and holiday pay. Job will be a salaried based position (45-50 hours per week). The Project Engineer will assist with project documentation and records, including contract documents, RFI’s, Change Order documents, subcontractor compliance, and closeouts. Assists Project Manager and Project Superintendent with project scheduling, submittal review/ processing, and record keeping; budgets time required to meet deadlines and determines appropriate time allocation for tasks. Works with Project Manager to prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following responsibilities are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed. • Manage project set, to include physical and electronic files; • QC subcontracts scope and interface with project manager and superintendent; • Develop submittal log and process submittals; • Draft and issue RFI’s while interfacing with project manager and superintendent; • Track Submittals, RFI’s, and Change Orders; • Prepare Project Closeouts Manuals; • Attend Job Meetings and Prepare Meeting Minutes; • Assist with subcontractor and site coordination; • Follow GBC Construction Standard Operating Procedures Qualifications The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive: • College degree in the construction field or other field with appropriate experience; • An understanding of basic engineering and architecture; • Must be able to read and understand contract documents; • Must have solid computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and outstanding organizational abilities; • Must be able to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines and work in a team environment |

Project Manager will oversee all project documentation and records, including contract documents, RFI’s, Change Order documents, subcontractor compliance, and closeouts. They will be responsible for the management of the project team and negotiations with subcontractors, vendors, design teams and owners. To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Description Job Summary Oversees and is the lead for all field operations of a project, including safety scheduling projects in logical steps, budgets time required to meet deadlines and determines appropriate construction methods. Inspects and reviews projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, State Federal, and local regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed. • Produce, review, adjust schedule where needed and publish on a weekly basis; • Manage subcontractors to ensure high levels of performance, quality and safety objectives are met. Review contract requirements to identify any training, qualification, or certifications required and ensure requirements are met. • Monitor Safety Program and ensure adherence to all health and safety policies and procedures for job site staff, subcontractors and owner employees, including but not limited to jobsite orientations and MSDS record-keeping. • Monitor Quality Program and ensure adherence to policies and procedures to ensure quality objectives are met. • Partner with design team personnel to ensure information provided is accurate and complete, and provide information to construction personnel accordingly. • Coordinate the work of subcontractors and service vendors in order to meet project objectives. • Manage onsite GBC labor and track labor usage; submit to office for all field employees. • Track field Purchase Orders and submit to office. • Superintendent duties require that employee is prepared each day, week and month. These duties may require employee to work outside of the normal 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. work day. • Lead weekly subcontractor and safety meetings and maintain record of minutes of meeting discussions. • Produce and have available onsite detailed daily logs, including construction activity and safety tailgate meetings. • Coordinate and complete punch list. • Participate in weekly OAC meetings as the lead field representative. • Work directly with the project manager to maintain budget and control field costs. • Responsible for coordinating and record-keeping of all inspections. Qualifications The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive: • Experience in Construction Management field or other field with appropriate experience; • Must be knowledgeable in standard operating procedures of construction projects and sites; • An understanding of basic engineering, quality, safety, finance and human resource principles; • Must be able to read and understand contract documents; (drawings & specifications for all divisions of work) • Must have solid computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and outstanding organizational abilities; including excel, word, Microsoft project, blue beam, and online construction management software. • Must be able to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines and work in a team environment; • Must be a lead the onsite team in a professional and effective manner. Physical Demands: Employee must be in good physical condition: possess good manual dexterity; be able to sit, stand, kneel, and squat; be able to lift at least 50 lbs; and be able to hear, speak and see within normal ranges (use of corrective devices is allowed). Working Conditions: Normally works in a typical construction site environment. May be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, and loud noise, will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
